Maya founded Project Celebrate at 14, in honor of a close friend who was in the foster care system. While volunteering at a local foster care agency, she realized that while many youth had their physical needs taken care of, their emotional and educational needs remained unaddressed. Out of that realization, project celebrate was formed to bring joy and opportunity to every child.
